The Le Bambole series includes the two-seater sofa Bibambola, which was created in 1972 and won the Compasso d'Oro in 1979. Le Bambole has provided a very individual response to the topic of seats. They are an icon of timeless contemporaneity and one of the most effective expressions of Made in Italy excellence, combining research and creative flair. They are unique for the obvious lack of a load-bearing structure, the extremely natural shape, and the appearance's combination of comfort, softness, and elasticity. The materials used today are of the most recent generation, beginning with recycled polyethylene, which provides structure. The initial construction was based on a metal structure embedded in polyurethane. This a project that is good for the environment because the materials used and the way it was built make it possible to completely disassemble and recycle the parts of Le Bambole.
