The Shibari lounge chair upholstered in stretch fabric, featuring a curved tubular metal frame fully padded with high-density expanded polyurethane and covered in fabric. The front and rear legs merge into the backrest, forming an interwoven structural element. The seat, supported by elastic webbing and padded with polyurethane.
The armchair wins the Archiproducts Design Award 2023 for its innovative concept and refined design, as well as the Archiproducts Sustainability Award for the low-impact qualities of its “Paddington” fabric covering, an eco-friendly material obtained from recycled PET and in turn recyclable but also thanks to the construction techniques adopted to ensure correct disassembly for disposal. “Design for disassembly”: to dispose of the product, simply separate the polyurethane from the metal frame: cut the tubular cylinder lengthwise and “undress the frame” leaving the bare metal. The polyurethane seat is easily removable, the elastic straps and wooden parts have been eliminated to reduce the number of components, increasing recyclability and facilitating disposal. Product life: virtually infinite, powder-coated frame for long life, CATAS certified for mechanical stress contract level 1 (public spaces with continuous use).
