The idea of decorating the surface of the Superonda to mark its fiftieth anniversary was suggested by Roberta Meloni. When imagining a hypothetical decoration, I thought I'd dedicate it to the person I have always admired but from whom, because of my timid and argumentative character, I had kept my distance, unlike my more spontaneous and extrovert school companions: Ettore Sottsass Jr. And so, while thinking about him, I searched for a decoration that I hope represents him in his obstinate search for complex simplicity, for the minuscule that is in fact gigantic. It is everything.
