The triangle is the ideal tile for a mosaic, because it can always be perfectly aligned with others and used to build linear structures. The same is true of the Rook bookcase, which is built up along a horizontal axis, creating a series of supporting surfaces. These can be repeated upwards to form a winding tower, which is very functional but also eye-catching.
